Brad Anderson

Brad Anderson - Board Chair

Educations / Credentials: Oregon State University, B.S. in Accounting Minor in Forest Products, OSU School of Forestry

Employment History: Retired in 2009 from Weyerhaeuser Company – Various accounting and finance positions. Business Analyst for Weyerhaeuser’s iLevel Business.

Board Involvement and Date Started: 1981 – Supervisory Committee 1985 – Northwest Community Board 1995 – 1999 Chairman of the Board 1997 – Certified Credit Union Director Designation Elected to the Board of Directors in 1985. Past Chairman of the Supervisory Committee. Served on the Wood Products Insurance Agency Board in the late 1980’s. Current member of the Executive Committee. Received Certified Credit Union Director designation from the Kellogg Executive Program at Northwestern University in 1997.

Hobbies: Snow and water skiing, fishing and boating (lakes and oceans), hunting in Northeast Oregon, OSU sporting events.

More about Brad Anderson: Financial service has been the focus of Brad’s career. He believes in the credit union philosophy of people helping people. Employment History: Postdoctoral studies, Washington State University, Pullman WA 1984-2011: Postdoctoral, Staff Scientist, Assistant Scientist, Associate Scientist, Scientist at Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research (name changed to Texas Biomedical Research Institute in 2011), San Antonio TX. Did biochemical and statistical research into the genetics of heart disease and its precursors; More than 130 scientific papers published. Currently Retired.

Board Involvement and Date Started: Nominated to the Northwest Community Board of Directors in 2011. Member of a credit union for more than 30 years. Member of Southwest Research Center FCU 1984-2011: Supervisory Committee 2001-2003; Board of Directors 2003-2011 (Board positions held: ALCO 2004-2011 and Chair 2005-2008; Treasurer 2005-2008; Chairman of the Board, 2008-2011). David has been a member of Northwest Community since 2009.

More about Judy Shurts: Judy was asked to run for the Board of Directors. After becoming a director in February of 1980, and learning about the credit union philosophy of people helping people, she believes that Northwest Community Credit Union is serving its field of membership and the community with the credit union philosophy. Since becoming a board member, she has met a lot of wonderful people. It’s been a very educational, very rewarding experience for her.

Prior to starting these firms, I worked for a family-run real estate development firm located in Eugene. Before moving back to Eugene, I worked for several large architecture firms in the Bay Area.

Educations / Credentials: I got my MBA degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in 2001. In 2006 I got Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification and have been a CFA member since then.

Employment History: I have 10 years of working experience in corporate finance in multiple industries from technology to healthcare and financial services. From 2007 to 2009 I was an Associate Director at Fitch Ratings, where I was responsible of assigning credit ratings to nineteen largest Chinese banks. From 2010 to 2014, I was an investment analyst at University of Oregon Foundation, assisting in endowment investment. Since Sep-14, I have been working on my own business, GreenDash LLC, a platform that brings high quality Oregon food to the Chinese market.
