Cornerstone Community Housing, Northwest Community Credit Union Team Up for Book Drive
Cornerstone Community Housing (CCH) is committed to building quality, affordable housing for people on limited incomes, also offering services that promote personal growth and economic independence.
Northwest Community Credit Union was pleased to partner up with CCH in March on a book drive. We set up bins in our Lane County branches and Portland location for new and gently used children’s book donations. We also shared their Amazon wish list link on our social media channels.
Employees and members alike donated generously! With your help, we collected over 1,000 books!
All book donations went to the Cornerstone Community Housing Books and Bites program, which delivers books and healthy snacks to children and teens throughout Lane County, Corvallis, Salem, and the Portland metro area.
“Books spark a lifelong love of learning—and they help kids dream big, in terms of what’s possible for themselves.”
John D. Iglesias, CEO & President of NWCU
Thank you to our members, employees, and community for supporting this book drive. We can't wait to host another!
Partnering to Build Fundamental Life Skills
Cornerstone Community Housing named NWCU as their “Housing Hero” for March 2021, presenting our executive team with a plaque commemorating the successful donation campaign we supported!
Thank you to CCH’s Executive Director Darcy Phillips for presenting the March Housing Hero award to our CEO & President John Iglesias!
We were honored to speak about why this book drive mattered so much to us in a video for CCH:
