Board Director Barry Houk has over 20 years’ experience in accounting and finance in financial institutions in the Portland and Eugene areas. He provided asset management leadership as an ALCO Committee member since he joined the NWCU Board in 2013. He also provided Supervisory Committee leadership from 2010 to 2013.

Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting and finance from Eastern Oregon State University (LaGrande, OR).

Prior to his retirement in 2020, he was the US national controller for Sproutly USA (2016–2020).

He also was employed as staff accountant for Wilkinson Corp (2002 - 2016); and consultant for Houk Contracting (Meta Fab and Auto Tech General Contracting, 2008–2012). From 2000 to 2008, Barry provided payroll, benefits, operations and financial management to several engineering and manufacturing firms.

In addition to his board service for NWCU, he currently serves the board of Meta Fab, Inc. (2004–present); he has also been a member of the City of Tigard Downtown Redevelopment Commission.

Barry’s hobbies include yard work, gardening, and reading.
